The Role
The Alchemy Wallet Services team mission is to “enable developers to build secure, streamlined, and self-sovereign user experiences to onboard mainstream users onchain.” As an engineering manager on the team, you'll be responsible for supporting engineering teams in execution both technically and culturally as we continue to scale our company.
You will be responsible for the teams working on core open source protocol infrastructure as well as Alchemy’s managed services that power some of the biggest teams in the space. The role has a dual inside/outside charter of building Alchemy products, but also developing the broader EVM ecosystem. You will shape internal product roadmaps while also engaging with the ecosystem to drive progress through open-source contributions, standards development, and strategic partnerships.

What You'll Do:
- Drive execution of the broader team strategies, including Account Abstraction Infrastructure and expanding overtime.
- Oversee technical and product strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products and services.
- Stay updated on the bleeding edge of technological and ecosystem advancements (native account abstraction, alloy, zk proofs for privacy, etc) to drive strategies that will enable more users to come onchain; effectively communicate concepts and progress.
- Enhance execution, mentor the team, and refine processes as the team scales. Provide technical mentorship to ensure high-quality standards.
- Foster team growth by actively recruiting and hiring top-tier engineers.
- Influence Alchemy's overall engineering culture through leadership, mentorship, and programs promoting continuous learning and development.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 6+ years of experience in software development, with a preferred focus on distributed systems.
- 3+ years in engineering management; proven success in building and leading backend teams for critical production infrastructure at a high-growth startup.
- Expertise in engineering and maintaining large scale distributed systems.
- Experience developing on and/or leading teams on or in the EVM.
- Experience with Rust, C++, or other lower-level systems programming is strongly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with the open-source community.
- Passion for and curiosity around creating innovative solutions that cater to the needs of the next billion users in the blockchain ecosystem.
- Founding team experience is a plus.

Alchemy is committed to offering competitive compensation, including base salary as well as equity. Additionally, Alchemy offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as other benefits such as 401k and unlimited flexible time off.
The base salary range for this position is estimated to be between $135,000 - $350,000 annually. Please note this range reflects base salary only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Your salary will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business needs.
